The October holidays had begun and I had not travel planned. I certainly didnt want to sit at home and and regret having wasted the long weekend. Picked Huangshan even though I was afraid that it may be a nightmare because of the crowds - I didnt have any advance bookings. Started booking the different sections in a tizzy.
2009
Oct1: Fly Shenzhen to Hangzhou. Overnight in Hangzhou
Oct2: Bus from Hangzhou to Tunxi. Overnight in Tunxi
Oct3: Tunxi to Huangshan, spend the day in Huangshan.. Overnight in Tunxi.
Oct4: Tunxi to Hangzhou. Overnight in Hangzhou
Oct5: Spend the daytime in Hangzhou, fly back to Shenzhen.

It was in the morning that we decided to make this trip, bought the airtickets easily with ctrip and booked the night in Hangzhou at ZJ Renshou hotel. The "Southline Hotel" where I had stayed before (and loved) was not available, and ZJ Renshou looked like a big hotel, but without any review in the various travel sites. However, it may have been popular with the Chinese tour groups - in which case I wouldnt find out.
It was a disaster !!
